Daniel Gerhard Brown, born June 22, 1964, in Exeter, New Hampshire, is an American author best known for his thrilling novels that masterfully blend cryptography, art, and conspiracy theories into captivating treasure hunts.

Growing up on the campus of Phillips Exeter Academy where his father taught mathematics, Brown was immersed in a world of codes, ciphers, and intellectual puzzles from an early age. His childhood featured elaborate treasure hunts with mathematical clues, experiences that would later inspire his signature storytelling style.

After graduating from Phillips Exeter, Brown attended Amherst College where he double majored in English and Spanish. His academic background, combined with his early exposure to cryptography and his mother's training in sacred music, created the perfect foundation for his future novels.

Brown's breakthrough came with "The Da Vinci Code" (2003), which became a global phenomenon. His Robert Langdon series, including "Angels & Demons," "The Lost Symbol," "Inferno," "Origin," and "The Secret of Secrets," has sold over 200 million copies worldwide and been translated into 57 languages. Three of his novels have been adapted into major motion pictures.
